To accelerate its journey toward becoming a world-class energy enterprise and forge a team of middle and senior managers as well as backbone talents with forward-looking vision, keen insight, and strategic thinking, the Comprehensive Competence Empowerment Training Program for Middle and Senior Managers and Backbone Talents of Shanghai Shenergy Lingang CCGT Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the “Training Program”) was officially launched at Dishui Lake Advanced Finance Institute, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE-DAFI) on the morning of August 1, 2025. Attendees of the opening ceremony of the Training Program included: YANG Bo, Member of the Party Committee, Vice President and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Shenergy Co., Ltd., Professor YAO Yang, Dean of SUFE-DAFI, LUO Yuding, Professor of SUFE-DAFI, and Mr. WANG Wei, Director of the Executive Education (EE) Center of SUFE-DAFI. A total of 50 middle and senior managers and business backbones from power generation enterprises under Shenergy Co., Ltd. participated in the Training Program.

In his opening remarks, Vice President YANG Bo, on behalf of Shenergy Co., Ltd., expressed gratitude to SUFE and SUFE-DAFI for their support. He pointed out that an enterprise’s core competitiveness for the future ultimately stemmed from sustainable talent development. He encouraged the participants to broaden their perspective from a higher stance, proactively absorb knowledge of emerging finance and cutting-edge policies, and continuously consolidate their professional capabilities, supporting the group’s high-quality development with their own high-standard growth. He emphasized that the Training Program was not only a “recharge and empowerment” initiative for the professional capabilities and comprehensive qualities of management personnel, but also a proactive move by Shenergy Co., Ltd. to adapt to the energy revolution and economic transformation. He expressed expectation that all participants would gain new knowledge, inspire new vitality, and demonstrate new achievements through learning in the Training Program.

Mr. WANG Wei, Director of the Executive Education (EE) Center of SUFE-DAFI, stated that Shenergy Co., Ltd.’s trust in SUFE-DAFI was not only a recognition of SUFE-DAFI’s educational quality, but also a positive exploration of the executive education cooperation model. He believed that this collaboration between the two parties was not only an innovative practice in talent cultivation, but also injected a “finance + industry” wisdom engine into the modern energy group characterized by “diversified innovation and collaborative win-win”.

The first session of the Training Program was delivered by Professor YAO Yang, Dean of SUFE-DAFI, with the theme China's Economic Resilience Under the Trump Tariff Shock. Starting from the political and economic logic of China-US trade frictions, Professor YAO Yang conducted an in-depth analysis of the fundamental driving factors behind the Trump tariff war, and systematically sorted out the structural advantages and response strategies demonstrated by China’s economy in the face of external shocks. He pointed out that China’s economic resilience stemmed from the scale effect of the industrial chain, the flexibility of policy tools, and the continuous breakthroughs in independent technological innovation. Combining the current international situation, he proposed that the key to achieving strategic breakthrough lay in the “dual-wheel drive” of “proactive opening-up” and “technological independence”. Against the backdrop of global political and economic changes and the transition to high-quality development, this logic provided profound inspiration and practical directions for the participants’ strategic thinking.

The Training Program lasted for 8 days, with a curriculum closely aligned with Shenergy Co., Ltd.’s development strategy and the actual needs of its gas power generation business. Centered around four core modules - Macroeconomics and Strategic Undertakings, AI-Enabled Industrial Innovation, Corporate Capital Operations, and Management Efficiency Enhancement, the Training Program integrated theoretical teaching, case discussions, and on-site visits to help participants broaden their horizons, improve efficiency, and strengthen their capabilities, thereby injecting impetus into the high-quality development of Shenergy’s gas power generation business. In addition to inviting authoritative scholars to teach, the curriculum also specially designed “theory + practice” mobile classes, which would organize participants to visit frontline scenarios such as AI unicorn enterprises and the Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute (SNERDI). Through immersive teaching, the Training Program aimed to deepen the conversion of knowledge into practical skills.
The successful launch of the Training Program marked a key step for Shenergy Co., Ltd. in its “Talent-strengthened Enterprise, Innovation-led Development” strategy. In the future, SUFE-DAFI will further deepen strategic cooperation with Shenergy Co., Ltd., focusing on high-end talent cultivation and organizational transformation empowerment, to jointly provide intellectual support for the modern energy ecosystem featuring “simultaneous development of industry and finance, diversified innovation, and collaborative win-win”.
