3. Brief introduction of the submitted research proposal.

Examiners will assess the applicant’s ideological and political quality, foreign language listening and speaking skills, language expression ability, degree of quick thinking, professional basic knowledge, and scientific research plan based on applicant’s presentation and answers.

The foreign language proficiency assessment will last approximately 5 minutes, conducted through applicants’ self-introduction and Q&A. Examiners will assess the applicant’s foreign language listening and speaking skills and ability to use foreign languages in professional fields.

III. Admission Criteria

1. Comprehensive assessment score (full score: 100 points) = Interview score. The interview mainly measures the applicant’s professional foundation, comprehensive quality, scientific research ability, and foreign language proficiency. Each applicant’s interview shall last no less than 30 minutes.

2. The Institute will rank and admit applicants separately according to their applied groups (Group A or Group B (Philosophy and Social Sciences Innovation Team of the MOE)). Admission lists will be determined based on the ranking of comprehensive assessment scores (from the highest to the lowest) within each group. Applicants with an unsatisfactory comprehensive assessment score (less than 60 points in 100-point scale) will not be admitted. The assessment of ideological and political quality is not quantified into the total score, but applicants who fail this assessment will not be admitted. The admission results will be reviewed by the Institute’s Graduate Enrollment Work Leading Group and submitted to the University Graduate School for approval.
