On October 13, Liu Yuanchun, President of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE), was invited to attend a symposium of economic situation experts and entrepreneurs chaired by Li Qiang, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council.
Liu Yuanchun and other seven experts and entrepreneurs spoke at the meeting.According to the speakers, China has reinforced countercyclical adjustments and introduced a number of targeted policies and measures since the second half of the year, which has resulted in a sustained economic recovery. China’s long-term prospects appear bright, comprehensively considering development stage, development conditions, development advantages and other factors. The participants also shared their opinions and suggestions on addressing the current problems in economic operation and preparing for economic work in the upcoming year.
Premier Li Qiang noted that China's abundant investment opportunities and vast market space provide a broad stage for all kinds of businesses, and he hoped that entrepreneurs could make greater progress in high-quality development. Since the mission of economists is to advance society and benefit the people, it is anticipated that experts and scholars would study more about China's realistic economic problems and offer more constructive advice on fostering high-quality development.
